To achieve your goal!
Established in 1993, GREENTECH has a headquarter in Gumi, Korea. We focuse on producing and supplying the most efficient and convenient pump to our customers by applying advanced IoT technology and 3D design and analysis technology.
Green Tech, which targets sales of 20 billion KRW in 2018, has been supplying OEM to large corporations and domestic government. We believe that it is unstable to stay in only government offices and domestic operations because domestic environment has been rapidly changed. We have tried to become a 'Hidden Champion' to fit our company vision.
So far, we have been exporting by-pass through large corporation with OEM, but we are ready to export our products directly under the name of "Green Tech".
Taking the first steps to advance into the procurement market in Vietnam
Since 2015, Green Tech has been actively engaged in sales activities by participating in exhibitions and meetings to consult buyers in order to enter the Southeast Asian market. However, there was somewhat difficult for us to meet our buyers in overseas, so we decided to place a direct overseas branch considering large investment and risk.
With the support and encouragement of various acquaintances and several associations, we moved quickly from the selection of the market to the establishment of the corporation. Finally, in May 2015, we established the first overseas branch of the company, Vietnam.
After the establishment of the corporation, when visited Vietnam agents who had been requested before establishing, we thought that the business progress would naturally follow, but the reality did not flow smoothly as planned.
Employee recruitment failure ... Unexpected income!
In the early stage of entry into Vietnam, in addition to external affairs such as finding partners and inquiries, the work in the office such as personnel and labor was very difficult.
In the meantime, we were invited by KOTRA to participate in the "2016 Vietnam Human Resource Recruitment Consultation Conference" to be held in Hanoi, Vietnam.
We interviewed total 5 applicants during the event, but eventually the recruitment did not continued. At that time we could get a information that KOTRA is operating the 'Overseas Public Procurement Support Center' for domestic companies to enter the public procurement market in Vietnam.
The Hanoi trade center, which has reached such a success, provided us with continuous information from project information to pump purchase inquiries, which was a great help for us.
Above all, we had an opportunity to meet with ordering and consulting agencies that we did not know, and it became an opportunity to expand the scope of the local network which was persistent only to agents.
In particular, the Vietnam Water Resource Academy has been conducting design consulting on various projects related to the water industry, and it is possible to obtain many advice on estimating the project.
Submitted quotations only!
Our company, which had been in business for the first year in Vietnam, was equipped with a local network as time went on, which led to the excavation of Inquiry naturally.
Each inquiry was precious, so it was not possible to pass anything small or big or anything, and we gave the quotations as soon as possible according to the specifications requested by the customer.
The inquiry I cherished so far, however, did not receive the least amount of feedback, so more estimates were meaningless.
I have always felt sorry for the engineers working in Korea because I guessed that most of the estimates will be used as a comparison estimate for the third party products that have already been contracted, but we believe that it will lead to the transaction someday.
It can not be estimated what will would happen
When we got used to the reaction of the agents, who have no feedback, it popped up in a place we could not think. The quotation was sent in February, and we forgot about it for a while, but in October, the buyer contacted us to discuss in detail.
The project was a pump supply project for the water supply system construction in Vietnam.
As we entered into detailed negotiations, we were able to reach the final contract quickly, and the consultation of the Vietnam Water Resources Academy was a great help in calculating the pump estimate.
Do not be impatient and need long term planning
Based on this transaction, we anticipate the upcoming 2018 market, and at the same time, we are worried that competition will become worse for many companies
It is expected that there will be more domestic companies hoping to enter the Vietnam procurement market in the future, and I would like to encourage companies to approach rather slowly than impatience.
The procurement market in Vietnam needs to establish long term plans and approach it with a certain grasp of the procurement market and the formation of trust with local companies.
Also, since many Vietnamese agents are very sensitive to sharing information, it is necessary to focus on building trust through meetings rather than meeting for information gathering. If trust is formed between each other, it is natural that demand will come along.
In addition, the Vietnamese companies' capacity has increased so much that they concentrate on not only price but also technical side, we think it would be a great help for a company that handles industrial products to have a sales engineer.
Lastly, although it was difficult to set up the company in 2015 until the first order in 2017, but we will be able to finish successfully this year thanks to KOTRA, which provided constant support for staff recruitment, project counseling, and order placement.
We would like to be given the opportunity to help other companies that are preparing to enter the Vietnam procurement market.
